Knowledge is Power.

About Me

I'm Hannah Sandison - an opera singer, performance psychology consultant, and founder of Sound Performance Psychology. I work one-to-one with artists and teachers looking for some support and mental skills in order to build and maintain resilience in a fluctuating industry. I also give workshops for charities, groups, and learning and development institutions.

Working as a freelance creative can be lonely and sometimes overwhelming. Today, the professional demands on performers are substantial. From administration and self promotion, to performance / audition preparation and dealing with performance anxiety, we must learn how to set ourselves structure and goals within an ever-changing schedule - and I'm here to help.

I work on the premise that knowledge is power - with a background in sports psychology and science based methods, I aim to help people better understand their own bodies and minds in professional preparation, and "in the moment" performance.

"Hannah gave me so many useful tools and information to tap into as I continue to negotiate being a mum in the performing arts. I felt so empowered after I confided in her and we tailor-made a plan for me to go forward with confidence and authenticity. She has such a comforting, approachable way of communicating and I felt so very well understood for my specific situation for the first time in a long time! She is undoubtedly a great asset to this field - I feel so lucky to have been guided by her!"
